“Blood Of The Damned – Chapter One”
In a SCIF somewhere in Washington DC. A U.S. senator watches his technical advisor retrieve mugshots from a government database. Bly Pharis, the Scarlet Savior, has recently become known to several deep state agencies. Just last week, a teenager from Phoenix, Arizona was involved in the murder of several high-ranking Clave syndicate members.
Why did a centuries-old vampire organization want to kill the girl? Senator Creighton thinks for a moment, then asks the technician to retrieve another set of profiles. The Sun Runner? This renegade psychopath, Javier Cortez-Montero, is also involved in vampire killing. This prompts the authority to conduct further investigations.
Hidalgo County Medical Center – New Mexico, two nurses prepare to transfer a Jane Doe from the psychiatric ward. The assistant doctor doesn’t believe what the young woman tells her about vampire biker gangs, and he shouldn’t believe it either. There is a specialist who sees it differently. Doctor Hamashita knows exactly what Joe Doe is. Will the unnamed patient leave the hospital alive?
review
As a secret government operation begins to clear things up, werewolves have arrived. Is this the first reference to the R-Complex in the future Scare Tactics series? I hope so. This storyline feels slow, but writers Tom Joyner and Keith Wilson have some fun elements right off the bat. I give this issue a solid three stars out of five
