Mercedes and the waning moon The television anime adaptation has revealed its first visual and trailer, as well as a release date of January 2027. The main voice cast and staff have also been announced. The anime was first announced in August 2025.
Anna Nagase will voice Mercedes Grunwald. The anime is directed by Kunihisa Sugishima, with series script by Jun Kumagai, character design by Nami Aoyama, music by R・O・N and Shuhei Mutsuki, and animation production by Teddy.

Mercedes and the Waning Moon: The Dungeon Exploits of a Neglected Vampire Aristocrat is a light novel series written by Firehead and illustrated by KeG. It began in Shosetsuka ni Naro before being picked up by TO Books, which began publishing the series in May 2021. Three volumes have been released as of February 2022.
There is also a manga adaptation by Pochi Edoya, which was launched on TO Books’ Corona EX website in August 2021. J-Novel Club has licensed the novel in English, describing the story:
Mercedes Grunwald is reincarnated as the vampire of a noble father and his outcast concubine, always knowing that one day, her father would choose an heir who was not hers. But what will happen to her family when that time comes? Her mother has no skills, their maid is old, and Mercedes is just a little girl. How will they survive in the world alone?
